Be spoken for.
Not all audio description companies are the same. Most do the bare minimum by using AI to generate synthesized, non-human narrations, and they rarely meet expectations. The narration cuts in at awkward moments, and the audio descriptions are written with the barest of detail, resulting in audio descriptions that fail to convey even the simplest of onscreen visuals.
We're all about quality. From the quality of our descriptive writing to the quality of our professional, multilingual voice talents, at Bespoke Audio Description, we do descriptive audio the old fashioned way: description by hand and recordings by human voice.
WHAT IS AUDIO DESCRIPTION?
Audio description is the descriptive narration of key visual elements in a video. Descriptive audio allows individuals with low vision to access content that is not otherwise accessible, simply by listening to the audio. In audio description, narrators typically describe actions, gestures, scene changes, and other visual information. They also describe titles, speaker names, and other text that may appear on the screen.

Audio description is essential for people who are blind or have low vision, but it also benefits those with certain cognitive disabilities who have difficulty understanding visually what is happening onscreen.

Hear the difference?
If you were visually impaired, which descriptive audio versions would you prefer?
Audio description is an art, not an algorithm.
The visually impaired care about the attention you give them.
They can tell when you've slapped together a rudimentary narration in an attempt to pass accessibility requirements. And they don’t like it.
But they respect and reward you for a job well done: a human voice accurately describing onscreen visuals. With 13% of your audience unable to see your video’s visual content, you can’t afford not to do this right.
That’s where we come in. We offer bespoke, or customized, audio description services for video, and we do it the best way, by hand and human voice.

COST
Our prices are competitive, based on the duration of your original video. No two audio description projects are alike. One video may be a short explainer video with good, visually descriptive original narration, so all it needs are a few additional sentences of descriptive audio. Another video may be a one-hour webinar featuring multiple graphs and charts requiring longer narration. Transcription, descriptive writing, audio production and video editing are all included. Show us your video and we'll send you a free quote!

Three Things to Know:
HOW ARE AUDIO DESCRIPTION VIDEOS ACCESSED ON THE WEB?
Two ways. Many online video players have a mechanism for incorporating a separate audio description audio track built in, so the visitor can select the descriptive version as an option. The most common way is to post a second video to YouTube or to your website and identify it as a descriptive audio version in the title or build a YouTube playlist for the visually impaired audience. Most streaming platforms provide audio description (AD) as a toggle in audio language settings and allow you to search by titles that include AD.

Low vision visitors use screen readers (also known as text-to-speech software) to read web pages. Audio cues identify a videos that have audio description. WebbIE is a free text-only web browser used by the visually and print impaired audience to search the web and read web pages in a highly accessible text display that works with any screenreader.
Listen to your audience.
According to the American Federation for the Blind, 32.2 million adult Americans (or about 13% of all adult Americans) report they either "have trouble" seeing, even when wearing glasses or contact lenses, or that they are blind or unable to see at all.
That’s 1 out of every 13 of your customers.
Think about that.
71% of people with disabilities leave a website if it isn't accessible.

CLOSED CAPTIONING
Since transcription is the first step for both audio description and closed captioning, we can provide captioning in addition to audio description. This means your video will be accessible to both the visually and hearing impaired.
Closed Captioning is a term used to describe the written transcription of dialogue and sound in a video. It can also be used to provide a textual alternative language translation of a video's primary audio language. So, for example, while the video's original narration is English, an alternative closed captioning file could display the Spanish translation of that audio.
The term "closed" means that the captions aren't visible until they are activated by the viewer, usually via a toggle button marked "CC" on the video's web player. Captions are uploaded to a web player as a separate file, and the web player synchronizes the captions with the video from time markers that we place in the closed captioning file.
